Decorating Ideas for Your Nursery
When a new baby comes along, most people have to plan ahead for the costs. Fortunately, it’s easy to decorate a baby nursery on a budget.
Tips for Easy, Cost Effective Decorating:
- Paint stripes on the walls. This way, you will have a cheap decoration and will not have to spend as much on wall paper and hanging decorations. Stripes can be tricky, so make sure you take the time to measure things out carefully. Having trouble? Ask an artistic friend for help.
- Invest in the right items. The sheets for your crib are going to constantly getting messy with spit up and diaper emergencies. Opt for some cheaper sheets and cover them with a cute blanket to hide any staining. Instead, splurge on the rocking chair. This needs to be a place where you feel comfortable rocking your child to sleep every night (and multiple times each night).
- Get a convertible crib. If you purchase a crib that converts to a full bed, you won’t have to buy two separate pieces of furniture. Click here for a furniture store with a built to grow crib.
- Find a changing table with shelves instead of drawers. The ones with drawers and cupboards tend to be more expensive. Instead, put decorative boxes on the shelves to hold changing table items and keep things organized.
Don’t shy away from used furniture. You can get some great deals on E-bay, Craigslist, or Amazon. Better yet, your friends may be willing to give you one of their furniture pieces as a baby shower gift. Also, remember that nothing in this room is permanent. Babies grow up fast, and these decorations and furniture pieces will probably only last a couple of years. Try to keep everything in great shape so you can sell them online later!
